CO2 emissions and energy consumption
In collaboration with the eco-tech company, ReFlow, we at ULDALL have mapped our CO2 emissions.
Based on this mapping, we are now in the process of setting ambitious and realistic reduction targets, which are part of the overall sustainability strategy for BIRN Group, of which ULDALL is a part.
Where we can truly make an active effort to reduce our climate impact is in our energy consumption. This primarily concerns the electricity we use for melting, holding, casting, and machining of cast iron.
FILTER SYSTEMS REDUCES ENERGY CONSUMPTION
We have reduced our energy consumption by installing a new ventilation system in the shake-out and degassing area. At ULDALL, we also reuse heat from the shake-out process, which is a mechanical process that ensures sand from molds can be recycled. The heat from this process is transferred to the ventilation system during degassing.
